At District, not only do we love the latest fashion trends, but we also love finding new bands and sharing them with our friends. We can’t get enough of these five artists and would love to hear what you think. Give them a listen and share them with your network and let us know what else you’re listening to these days. Rock on!
LP- Even though she’s been around for years, LP is just starting to get big and if you haven’t heard her yet, prepare yourselves. Combine the vocal range of an opera singer with unparalleled whistling skills, unique style, serious stage presence and her signature ukulele and you have something special. The folks over at Martin Guitars are so impressed that they made her their first female Martin Guitar Ambassador. Yeah, that’s a big deal.
Listen to: Into the Wild, Night Like This, Tokyo Sunrise
Run River North- Take great lyrics, serious musicality, beautiful harmonies, a show-stealing drummer and you have Run River North. They sound like no one else we’ve ever heard, and that’s a great thing. Their live shows are captivating, full of energy and not to be missed.
Listen to: Monsters Calling Home, Fight to Keep, Growing Up
Pearl and The Beard- This folk-pop trio have a truly unique vibe and use an array of different instruments that you can’t help but love. Accordion? Check. Kazoo? Check. Glockenspiel? What’s that?! Whatever it is, we like it. A lot.
Listen to: Sweetness, Douglas Douglass, Reverend
Lake Street Dive- Once in a while you hear a voice that makes you stop in your tracks and be thankful for the gift of music. Rachel Price, lead singer of Lake Street Dive, does that for us. Her smooth, soulful voice leads the way for this band whose members met at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. The talent with these four musicians is legit and we think they’ll be around for a very long time.
Listen to: Bad Self Portraits, Neighbor Song, Hello? Goodbye!
Ayron Jones and The Way- There must be something in the coffee. Seattle has a rich music history that has produced the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and so many other bands that we love. Add Ayron Jones to that list. He has taken the Pacific Northwest music scene by storm and mesmerizes audiences with his Hendrix-esque guitar playing and serious pipes. Not only does he write some great songs, but his covers of the classics are something special.
Listen to: My Love Remains, On Two Feet I Stand, Feedin’ from the Devil’s Hands
