Fashion Zoology: Animals Are Invading the Runway

Sure, animal prints have been around for ages—leopard tights, zebra tops, that sort of thing—but this season the animal motif is taking on a very different form. Designers are featuring the complete likenesses of animals—not just their prints. Creatures of all kinds, from silhouettes to detailed depictions, are providing a focal point on both the runway and at retail. Paul Smith, Jill Sander, Burberry Prorsum and Dior Homme are just a few of the designers who have been experimenting with this animal trend. And these furry (and feathered) friends can be found not just on shirts and coats, but on headbands, jewelry, bags and other accessories.

Here’s an idea:
Why not use District as your canvas and explore your own unique take on the animal motif? A giraffe would look fetching on a one of our hoodies, no? Or perhaps a moose on a tee?
