District sat down with….
DC: How did you become a professional fashion stylist?
I spent years as a top professional model, working runways around the world. After coming back to the states, I noticed that there wasn’t a fashion expert on television that lived the life of a model talking about trends. I pitched myself and the idea to a national tv show many years ago and thus, “The Fashion Guy,” was born. I’ve been blessed that I’ve been working ever since. I’ve spent the past 15 years in the trenches with my female viewers, making them over and making it my mission to show these women the shapes, styles, and trends that work for them, their body style/ shape and, most of all, their budget.
DC: Where do you find inspiration for your work?
My inspiration comes from everyday life and, most importantly, God’s beautiful handiwork in nature.
DC: What do you like best about your job?
What I like best about my job is making people feel better and having them look in the mirror and love what they see…finally.
DC: What’s your biggest tip for styling basics?
When all else fails…keep it simple, keep it classic and always make it chic.
DC: What do you think is the biggest Summer trend?
Pretty in pink.
DC: What are the 5 top District styles (and colors) everyone should have in their summer rotation?

Lawrence Zarian’s 10 Commandments for a Perfect Wardrobe is an informative and entertaining, step-by-step guide to looking and feeling your best. The book zeroes in on creative and most of all, affordable ways for both women and men to hone their fashion instincts and build a stylish, multi-purpose wardrobe, regardless of budget or body shape. As a family member on “Live with Kelly and Michael,” “Steve Harvey,” “Rachael Ray” and “The Doctors,” I’ve been blessed to s how my viewers that part of looking fabulous is feeling fabulous. In the book, I also opens up about my own 15-year struggle with weight, self-image, and self-acceptance. Hopefully, my candor will inspire readers to learn how to love and celebrate themselves, inside and out.
My book not only teaches you to shop like a professional stylist and change the way you utilize your wardrobe, I share my secrets to creating one’s own, unique style and most of all, love the person you see in the mirror! In include the ‘before and after’ photos from some of my miraculous makeovers, detailed illustrations by the talented Brooke Hagel, and inspirational anecdotes and exclusive tips from some of the biggest names in fashion, beauty and fitness.
