Trend Alert: Monochrome

An increasingly popular trend popping up all over runways and fashion magazines is monochrome outfits. At District® Clothing we love bringing you new color trends, and this has to be one of our favorites out there! At first, it may seem boring—just one color? But it’s actually a fun trend to play with, whether matching different shades of the same color or working in pops of a second color with shoes and accessories.

Here are some ideas to get your monochrome wardrobe started, featuring t shirts, tank tops, and more items in our favorite colors from District® Clothing!

There are quite a few shades of red scattered throughout our entire collection, from bright reds to subdued heathers, even maroon and sangria. This outfit reminds us of an all-red fruit salad—think strawberries, raspberries, and red grapes!

Perhaps the most natural of all colors. We love the contrast of the bright Apple Green tank top compared with the softer, on-trend mint green. Throw on a few nude accessories to balance out the outfit and you’re ready to hit the town!

Have you ever had that moment when you’re afraid your favorite blue top will look too matchy-matchy with your go-to pair of jeans? With this new monochrome trend, you can dash that fear away!

There are many shades of orange and a slew of terms to describe them. Peach, coral, and salmon all fall under the orange category and all go great together!

Whether you prefer violet or lavender, or any other variations of purple, we think this preppy purple look is your next go-to work outfit. Hint: pink and purple totally count when monochrome-ing!

Monochrome isn’t all about color: it can include black and white (and grey!) as well! Our Juniors Strappy Dress comes in four color options and is a great way to monochrome with one item. Opt to accessorize with similar shades, or try a pop of color like we did with this classic monochrome outfit idea!
