The past two weekends have seen throngs of music, fashion and art lovers descend upon Indio, Calif. for the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. We’re here to recap the most memorable moments and give you the low-down on all of the happenings.
Coachella prides itself by having an artist for everyone to listen to during the weekend. Our top picks? The Weeknd, Jack White and Marina & The Diamonds.
Marina & The Diamonds just released her third album and she brought the energy level up during her set during sunset. She effortlessly carried the main stage with hits like “Primadonna” and “How to Be a Heartbreaker.” She’s definitely one to watch. The guitar solos from Jack White and ending his set with chart-topper “Seven Nation Army” by his former band, The White Stripes, made him a MUST SEE both weekends. Closing out Saturday, The Weeknd solidified himself as a star by moving through his entire catalogue. His sultry voice captivated crowds while he sang hits “Love Me Harder” and “Earned It.”
Walking around Coachella is like being at a fashion show! Between the celebs and attendees, we had some major outfit inspiration. See below for our favorite looks.
One of the biggest aspects of Coachella is always the amazing art. This year, the main piece was a giant animatronic caterpillar that changed into a butterfly on the third day. Created by artist Poetic Kinetics, this piece was the icon of the festival.
Another “most-instagrammable” piece was the Chono Chromatic pillars by artist Aphidoidea. These colorful sculptures ranged in size and were illuminated in sequence every hour during the night.
